Hello, friends! We are Colin and Becca Buffington. We are long term missionaries serving alongside Legacy of Hope Foundation. We moved to Honduras in January 2019 and fell in love with the family-based approach that Legacy of Hope offers to orphaned and vulnerable children. When Legacy of Hope decided to begin a sustainability program, we were thrilled at the opportunity to work as a husband-wife team and launch their coffee program. Who wouldn’t be ecstatic? I mean, amazing coffee AND all sales help sustain and grow these amazing orphan care programs? Yes, please! After our first year here, we caught the foster care bug and became a foster family under Legacy of Hope. It is both a joy and a privilege to be immersed in family-based care and to see the healing that can come from the love of a family.

Premium Honduran Coffee
San MArcos (Dark Roast)
Strictly high grown, roasted dark to remove almost all brightness and provide an incredibly smooth finish. Our San Marcos roast comes from San Marcos, Ocotepeque. Our San Marcos Bag features the San Marco cathedral found in the center of town.
Estrella Lenca (Medium Roast)
Strictly high grown, roasted medium to preserve the sweetness of the honey process. Our Estrella Lenca Roast comes from Gracias, Lempira. Featured on our Estrella Lenca bag is the fort San Cristobal that overlooks Gracias.
Santa Rosa (Light Roast)
High grown, roasted light to allow it’s mild fruity brightness to shine through. Our Santa Rosa roast comes from our very own community of Santa Rosa de Copan . Featured on our Santa Rosa bag is the Saint Rose Cathedral found in the center of town. All Three regions highlighted on our bags are directly benefited by our programs.

Our decaf roast is also from the department of Copan and is the best decaf Honduras has to offer.
Legacy of Hope Family Based Care Programs
Crisis Care Program:
Our Crisis Care Center is a unique, family-style home that receives children for short periods of time until child services can relocate them to a safe environment. With our Honduran staff, psychologists, and leadership team, we strive to help each child within their cultural environment to rely on their communities and safe adults in order to achieve their full potential.
Foster Care:
Our foster care model places us in the role of a foster care agency. While it is the role of DINAF (Honduran child services division) to place children in homes, we provide the resources to identify, educate and support these families.
Our personal residence serves as the first foster home under our umbrella. The goal is to provide stability and permanency for the children in our care. We use our home as a model of other families who wish to foster as well, giving them a goal toward which they can work.

Legacy of Hope Foundation works with the individuals and other organizations to provide gifts of clothes, shoes, diapers, blankets or food to needy children, mothers and families who have no where else to turn.

The term “K-Cup” is trademarked by Keurig, and so we have to refer to our Keurig-compatible products by a different name. Our single serve pods will work in Keurig machines and other compatible brewers.
We’ve roasted each of our origins to highlight specific tasting notes.
Santa Rosa – roasted with an ultra-light profile to allow the full bright acidity to shine through.
Estrella Lenca – this is our only origin that is dried with a honey process, meaning it the beans are sun-dried with the mucilage intact. We roast it medium to allow keep some brightness, but not overpower the sweetness from the drying process.
San Marcos – we roast this to a darker profile than the others, removing almost all acidity. While it is incredibly smooth, it still has an incredibly strong flavor profile.
For smaller orders of less than $30, we offer standard Express Mail service from the US Postal Service that has a flat fee of $4.99
For orders of $30 and up, shipping is free.
We also offer free local pickup for orders of any size if the shipping zip code lies within Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, where our coffee is roasted.
Regardless of the shipping option, you will receive an email when your order has shipped or when it is ready for pickup.
Yes. This is a wholly owned venture by Legacy of Hope Foundation, working in the Western mountain region of Honduras. Each of our coffees are single origin from estates in the area where we work.
All profits from coffee sales help to fund our family-based holistic orphan care programs. Our goal is to not replace the charitable gifts from our partners, but to offset our dependence on donations and grants.
We’ve pre-selected several collections that can be purchased as a one-time gift or limited time monthly subscriptions.
